MOM'S SALTED FISH WITH GROUND PORK

1/2 lb ground pork
2 one inch slices of salted fish
2 fresh or frozen peeled water chestnuts
2 slices ginger
1/2 teaspoon cornstarch
1/2 teaspoon sesame oil
1/2 teaspoon shaoxing wine
1/4 teaspoon white pepper
1/2 teaspoon soy sauce
pinch of sugar

  • clean and debone slices of salted fish
  • chop salted fish and water chestnuts
  • slice and shred ginger
  • mix water chestnuts and fish with ground pork with the rest of the ingredients and form into a patty in a rimmed steaming dish. sprinkle with slices of ginger
  • steam on med-high heat for 20 minutes.

a little bit of this goes a long way with a huge bowl of white rice! we forego the water for rice! :)
